Spring forecast is exceptional
We are expecting a very special spring season. Our trees and berry bushes like a cold winter to produce large, healthy buds and we had many good frosts in May and June.
To give the buds the best chance we also need good winter rains and these have been well above average.
We already have small peach fruitlets and even some early strawberries growing well.
Providing we are free of major frosts for the rest of spring, we expect to have some strawberries to pick early in October.
So at the opening on October 3 for our Cherry Blossom Festival we should have one of the most spectacular displays ever of cherry blossom, and a few strawberries to pick. We shall also have our latest batch of delicious fruit liqueurs for tasting.
